💫 How to Have the Perfect Dance Headshot Photoshoot

Whether this is your first time in a photography studio or your fifth dance headshot shoot, this guide will help you show up confident, prepared, and ready to SLAY your shoot!

1. ✨ Know What’s Included

Included:

  • Your reserved studio time (setup + shoot)

  • Professional lighting and backdrop

  • High-quality, edited photos based on your package

  • Creative direction and posing guidance

What’s NOT included unless added on:

  • Hair and makeup services

  • Styling or wardrobe selection

  • Extra outfit changes beyond your selected looks

  • Over-editing or complex retouching

💄 Need glam? You can bring your own artist, or we can help connect you with one! We also offer an add-on option for $150 which includes a trusted makeup artist who does light hair styling too.

4. 💅 First Look Should Be Ready

Your first look should be fully ready to go when you arrive. There is no full hair or makeup allowed during the first hour of your shoot—makeup takes time, and we want to prioritize shooting.

If you absolutely need to start getting ready on-site, we offer an early arrival option for $50 extra to give you that prep time.

⚡️ Arriving with wet hair and bare skin will only cut into your shooting time and limit the results you can get. Arriving fully ready is strongly encouraged so we can make the most of your session!

You can change into your outfit at the studio.

2. ⏰ Arrive Early

Please arrive at least 10 minutes early to your scheduled time. Being on time keeps everything flowing and ensures we don’t cut into anyone else’s shoot.

3. 👗 Come Styled & Camera-Ready

If your package includes 2–3 looks, that means 2–3 planned, styled outfits – not "everything I can change into in 2 hours."

💡 Try your looks on at home ahead of time to see what works! Avoid bringing a full closet and saying,
“I didn’t have time to plan, maybe you can tell me what to wear.”

We love options, but your prep helps us stay focused and creative. Accessories are welcome to elevate your look (think: jackets, jewelry, glasses), but let’s keep it intentional!

5. 🙌 Respect the Studio Space

We want a smooth, supportive vibe for everyone. Please:

  • Keep your belongings compact and organized

  • Don’t bring extra guests, pets or babies unless approved

  • Be mindful while others are shooting

6. 🧐 Mindset = Magic

The best headshots happen when you’re relaxed, confident, and prepared.

  • Practice some poses beforehand

  • Bring music playlists or anything that helps you feel hyped

  • Trust that you’re exactly where you need to be ✨
